Well, 7 months is all it took.
My oldest and I have been sick with a cold since early last week. We thought it was just allergies due to all of the pollen flying around right now, but a trip to the pediatrician made us second guess our diagnosis. 😉 My oldest had a scheduled yearly physical, and it was during this physical that we were made aware our allergies may be more. The doctor discovered the big boy had swollen glands. She ordered a strep test, which thankfully came back negative. After that appointment we steadily got sicker, and now hubby and the baby have it too. 😦
The baby was up several times during the night, and sounded so stuffy. He was pretty sneezy yesterday, and they produced runny globs of goo. LOL! He had several wardrobe changes yesterday due to the goo, and constant drooling. He still doesn’t have any teeth, but they must be on the way. 😉
I have just been nursing him on demand, and trying to keep him comfy. Luckily he hasn’t had much of a change in his behavior. He is still pretty happy and smiley…..just extra moist.
I truly believe it has been the breastfeeding that has kept him so healthy. My oldest was breastfed too, and he was almost never sick as a baby. He never had the bouts of ear infections that other kids seem to get, and I am hoping we avoid that this time around too.
I just wanted to document this “milestone”, and share my experience.
